Sweet Tooth

My sweet tooth has gotten a LOT worse since moving to New York. Don't know why...

Hazelnut dome with orange sorbet from SD26. This was one of the best meals I've ever had and the dessert was perfect! It was sweet, tart, and visually appealing. If you are looking for a stylish, chic dining experience, go to SD26!

Ice cream from Lula's Sweet Apothecary. Love this little vegan ice cream parlor. The employees are so nice and encourage you to try every flavor. The best part, coconut flavored whipped cream!!!

Dessert Truck. This is one of my favorite late night dessert spots. If you are looking for affordable high quality treats, Dessert Truck is the place to go! They also have a place in the LES. I'll eventually make my way there:).

Pictured: chocolate bread pudding (with bacon), goat cheese cheesecake, and warm molten chocolate cake. I'm not the biggest fan of bread pudding but this was so good! No wonder why they beat Bobby Flay. Not pictured: warm nutella doughnut holes and hot chocolate.

One of my favorite memories of summer were the juicy yellow peaches at the farmers market. Words cannot describe how good they were. Northern Spy Food Co. had the best peach cobbler with cinnamon ice cream. O-face ...YES!

The Morning Benders

Never judge a band by their first album.

I purchased The Morning Benders' first album back in 2008 after hearing great reviews via itunes. Sadly, I was not impressed by any means.

My roomie convinced me to watch a video off their second album titled, Big Echo. After seeing this beautiful video, I was curious to see what the rest of their album was like. Big Echo is much better than Talking Through Tin Cans. There is improvement, growth, and a refreshing sound that emerged. Lead singer Christopher Chu is the main reason why I can't help but love this band. He is adorable with his pug eyes, pigeon like moves, and John Mayer ish sex faces onstage.

I waited for alnost an hour at ACL to get a glimpse of Mr. Chu doing his thang. It was quite embarrassing to be surrounded by teens smoking weed and wearing fake wayfarers. I guess you can say it was worth it but I'm sure you would do the same after watching these videos.

SF Coffee

Decided to take a trip to San Francisco for the weekend to see Arcade Fire, which btw was the best show I've ever seen. I'll blog about that later:). During my three day visit to the city, I had to stop by a few coffee shops. First was the Blue Bottle headquarters. It was still warm (sorta) so I needed to get my last cup of New Orleans iced coffee. My cup of deelish iced coffee was then turned Irish while camping out for the Arcade Fire concert.

Heard good things about Four Barrel so I stopped by before my flight. Here is my friend's Mocha at Four Barrel in San Francisco. Decided not to take a picture of my Americano since it wasn't as visually appealing. This place had a beautiful set up with two bars. We got to sit in the back and watch the hot coffee roasters do their thang. Definitely one of my favorites:)

Maple Bacon Latte at Pirate Radio Cafe. Heard about this place from one of my favorite TV shows and had to try it. Double espresso latte spiked with organic maple syrup and homemade bacon, sprinkled with Bac-Os on top. The combination of bacon and coffee was interesting to say the least. I'm glad I tried it, but don't think I'll be going back anytime soon. Made my stomach turn and prevented me from drinking that night.
